A Grand Adventure — America's First Transcontinental Truck Run

In 1911, four men set off in a Mack truck to attempt a feat never accomplished before – drive a truck across the United States. The person driving that truck was named George MacLean. He was a Canadian, from Campbell’s Bay Quebec.

The trip was taken against the backdrop of a continent about to change forever. These were they early days of motoring in North America, an era of larger-then-life characters and dreamers like Cannonball Baker, Carl Fisher, Teddy Roosevelt, Jack Mack – and George MacLean.

The Mack transcontinental truck-run of 1911 was perfect for the times. A crazy, never-should-have-worked road trip that is told here for the first time.
